I recently read an article in Women’s Health magazine that I wanted to summarize and share with you, because it was such a great article.
It’s about inflammation. Not the kind of inflammation you get when you get a swollen knee from running, but the kind that is chronic and all over your body. And you don’t even realize it.
Chronic inflammation is a slow, silent disturbance that never shuts off. You can’t feel it. You can’t be tested for it. And it may be the root cause of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, depression and allergies.
Top Inflammation Triggers:
• Carrying excess weight
• Eating a high-sugar, high-carb diet
• Experiencing high anxiety
• Breathing bad air
Top Inflammation Fighters:
• Eating Omega-3 fatty acids (take a daily dose of fish oil and eat fish at least twice a week)
• Eating fruits and vegetables
• Exercise
• Boosting your mood
Top Foods the Quell Inflammation:
• Greens
• Blueberries
• Salmon
• Flaxseed
• Legumes
• Turmeric
Turmeric! And what is one of the 5 ingredients of Protandim? That’s right, turmeric!
Studies have show this zesty spice may have impressive anti-inflammatory and cancer fighting properties.
One of the biggest things that Protandim does, is decreases chronic inflammation. And if you are decreasing your inflammation, you are going to feel much better. Period. It helps your immune system get back on track and only use inflammation when it is really needed to fight a cold or sprained ankle. And you are reducing your risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, depression and allergies among other things!

Another large contributor to chronic inflammation is excess Omega-6 fatty acids... which you can find in soybean oil, which you can find in almost any boxed food item we have on our grocery store shelves. Americans eat way too much of it. Thanks for sharing the info above!
ReplyDeleteI did not know that! Very interesting. A new healthy food grocery store just opened up in our town and its huge and everyone is excited, but I kept thinking, as I walked down the rows and rows...that it was all boxed food. Organic, yes, but boxed! Just because its organic doesn't mean its good for you!
