Friday Link Love: 8.27.10

I came across an amazing non-profit this week.  Its called MamaBaby Haiti.  Its a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of mothers and babies. Their mission is to lower the maternal, fetal, and neonatal mortality rate in Haiti. MamaBaby Haiti is formed by a group of midwives and naturopathic doctors who serve women and families out of their birthing center and clinic in Haiti. They provide free prenatal, birth, postpartum, and pediatric care, in addition to education and other life saving services.

This is a great website to keep up to date on food policy and issues.  I signed up to get email alerts and I am so glad I did.  I learned about the recent Salmonella outbreak in eggs that has sickened thousands so far and resulted in a recall of more than half a billion eggs.  Really glad I get my eggs straight from the farm.

Click here if you want to fight back. Tell your grocery store to stop buying from any company that does business with these 'bad eggs' and change our rotten food system.

I have some crafty holiday ideas up my sleeve if I can manage to find the time, between taking two science classes, teaching three yoga classes, starting my new business, keep up the blog, and oh yeah, take care of miss P.  But IF I can find the time, this tutorial on the basics of Applique is gonna help me out!
